Parsons For Avon

BrianParsons

Hello and welcome to the new ParsonsForAvon.com!

Post Mortem

Although we were not victorious as we had hoped, I think we made a big impact on the race. It was relatively close between all 3 candidates and I suppose there is some solace in that. It’s always tough to lose, but we had 3 good candidates and the residents of Ward 3 would have been well represented regardless of who won.

Thanks to all of you who supported my campaign and I really appreciate the words of encouragement. I will continue to stay involved and keep you updated on the website with information on the issues that are important to us. Check back often!

I would like to congratulate Kevin Ward for his win last night. I am confident he will represent Ward 3 in the best interests of the residents. Good luck Kevin!

Election Day is here!

Well, it is finally here. Please make sure you get out and vote today! Every vote counts and I need your support! Voting is our most important civic duty! With some hotly contested races and issues, today will be very interesting. Polls are open util 7:30pm this evening so there is still plenty of time to vote!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who supported my campaign. Whether you put out a yard sign, read my flyer, or talked to me on the campaign trail, I am humbled by your support. It was great to shake hands with so many of you in Ward 3.  Thanks again and wish me luck today.

Election Results at the Creekside

Tonight, we will be gathering at the Creekside Tavern to watch the election results, have some food and fun after a long campaign. Greg Tilton, Candidate for Avon City School board will also be joining in. We urge all everyone to come out and join us tonight at the Creekside on the corner of Detroit Road and SR 611! (this is not a fundraising event, we’ll all be going “Dutch”!). We’ll either be celebrating a win or drowning our sorrows! Please come join us!

I am very excited to be a candidate for Avon City Council, Ward 3. I am currently walking the streets of Ward 3 and speaking about the issues that are important to Ward 3 and the City of Avon.

I have updated the “Platform Issues” page and will update this new refreshed site with more details and feedback on the key issues that will be important during the 2009 campaign. Hopefully the information you will find on this new site will provide you with the confidence to elect Brian Parsons to be your Avon Ward 3 City Councilman!

We all know that Avon is a great place to live, raise a family and work. That’s why we chose to raise our family here 7 years ago and look forward to living in Avon for a very long time!

I have become involved in several issues that affect Avon over the past few years such as commercial development,  infrastructure improvement, recycling and many others. In fact, in my role serving on the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District Policy Committee, I helped write the plan that has brought $425,000 in grant funding and 133% increase in recycling to the City of Avon! The Ohio EPA calls this a model plan for the state of Ohio. I am very proud of this accomplishment.

Even in a down economy, growth continues in Avon. In the coming years, that growth will have a dramatic impact on our city. We will again face several important decisionsrelative to the potential new (or expanded) library, residential and commercial development, the proposed I-90 interchange at Nagel road and many others.

How those decisions are managed will affect our city for generations to come!

That is why I am running for Avon City Council, Ward 3.

I believe that my expertise, practical approach, negotiating experience and ability to bring people together will serve our city well.

I am very excited about the opportunity to serve and hope you will give me the privilege of your vote!

CANDIDATES PLEDGE:

I Pledge to represent the residents of Avon Ward 3 with hard work and an independent voice!

I Pledge to be proactive and communicate directly with the residents of Avon Ward 3 on key issues and progress!

I Pledge to maintain a fiscally responsible, balanced approach when voting on issues that impact the finances of the city.

I Pledge to work hard and use my experience, expertise, negotiation skills and common sense approach to properly manage important issues such as commercial and residential development, (proposed) Avon Library Project, i90/Nagel Road interchange, Cleveland Clinic and CHP projects, traffic issues, complete sidewalks, and explore the potential for additional parks, green space, trails and commuter rail.
